Jack and Jill Magazine - December 1966

Welcome to a special Christmas edition of Magazine Monday. From December 1966 its Jack and Jill Magazine with a great (slightly stained) cover. In addition to the Disneyland Parade article there’s a look at some new show called How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

The inside over (with the stain reversed) has a sweet “author unknown” poem. Even better than the poem is Ed Emberley’s superb art work which if you're over 40 I’m sure you recognize (link).

The Cigar-smoking rooster gets mentioned, you can see him here (link). “Walt Disney promises the 1966 parade will be bigger and better yet”.

Fantasy on Parade” looks simultaneously silly and fun.

Do you suppose they knew how big this “different kind of creation” would become? There is some excellent artwork in this four page article.

I always forget about the Chuck Jones connection even though I guess it’s pretty obvious.

Get out your favorite instrument and play for us, we’ll all sing along.

Let’s talk about some very cool toys shall we.

If we all stare at this calendar long enough maybe it will be 1966 again?

Barbie had a friend name Francie? Check out those mod-in-groovy-kicky-arty outfits! I want that tiny record player.

The inside back cover dare’s you to find the 18 things wrong in this picture.

The back cover features some “reader” submitted artwork, great stuff.

In case you missed last years Jack and Jill December 1961 post, you can see it here (link).
