Who can forget “Hands Across America”? Mickey Mouse and Goofy participated!
In case you did forget “Hands Across America” here’s the promo to jog your memory – It’s worth watching just to see Crockett and Tubbs again.
Boy there sure is a lot going on at Disneyland in April 1986. “Totally Minnie”! The Polynesian Revue at the Tehitian Terrace – Nice! Matterhorn Climbers, Videopolis, Slue Foot Sure, Airplay heck even Bear County looks like it's got something cool going on. What happened to this Disneyland?
Fiesta Latina – The only name I recognize is KRASH.

I remember the promos for Hands Across America, but I don't ever remember seeing footage of the actual event. Didn't the continuous line of people that they had hoped for end up having many "holes" in it?
Is it just me or did that video footage look like it might have used some quick shots from America the Beautiful at DL? (the shots of a New England harbor and also the Covered bridge?)
Hands Across America, one of the sillier events of the 80's - and that's saying something. Wikipedia sez: "There were undoubtedly many breaks in the chain, but enough people participated to form an unbroken chain across the 48 contiguous states if the path had been a straight line." That's a pretty big "if", it seems to me!
