Staying with yesterday’s
March 1972 post, here’ s a fun little pocket calendar for Disneyland from
December 1971 though May 1972. On
March 21, 1972 the park opened only for a private party, which seems odd. Maybe it had something to do with the Grand Opening of Bear County, which was
March 4, 1972, 38 years ago today!

Looks like
Cinderella Day was actually a “
Festival” and was held on two days,
March 3 and March 4, 1972. “
Private Parties” were held at night on those days.

Another “
Private Party” only held on December 6. Wow, Disneyland was closed on Valentine’s Day
1972!

I didn't know Disneyland had so many private parties, and with such regularity. Are there still private parties like that today?
I think I'll have a private party at Disneyland. I'm sure it won't cost much!
Hi Andrew, I don't think they do that many private parties anymore. It was easier to do when they closed at 6pm daily, but they rarely close at 6pm now-a-days.
Major, if it takes a Private Party to get you to the park I'm all for it :-) - Lets see if we can get Tony to take care of the tab.
Some of those private parties were really great, too. Few people - empty park. Specifically remember parties with Crocker Bank and local Pacific Telephone that were completely dead. A kid could 'own' the place all might!
