From the Summer of 1976 it’s Backstage Magazine. Another cast member magazine, this one has some fun stuff inside. The covers are pretty nice too, but you really need to view the front and the back together for it to make sense.
“One of those days”
There are three of these “Uh-oh” pages in this issue. They are really funny; I like the 3rd one the best! These all remind me of Major’s “Day at Disneyland” April 1st post from last year (link). Although Major's photo was MUCH funnier than these.
Some cute coupons… What does E.R. mean in the context of being a cast member?
There’s a bunch of these silly comics too…
Come back on Bonus Sunday for the entire issue.

E.R. means "Early Release" (as in getting to go home early for the day, if conditions warrant -- it has nothing to do with sexual dysfunction). Haha. Funny, I haven't heard that term since my days of being a Cast Member back in the late 90's/early 00's. By the way, I wonder if CM's actually tried to use these coupons? The Club 33 one inviting CM's to drink cocktails on their break is so un-PC (and clearly pre-OSHA)! ;)
Love what you do here, by the way. Longtime reader, first time commenter. Keep up the good work. :)
Ha ha, I like #3 in the "Uh Oh" series as well. I have some earlier issues of "Backstage Disneyland", an it appears that they remained essentially the same for quite a while.
Tim, you have never left an "A" coupon as a tip, have you??
(I was also wondering what "ER" meant, so thanks to josh)
Those Uh-Oh's are so great! And imagine, all accomplished without Photoshop!
Thanks for posting this!
Hi Josh, thanks for the info and the nice words. I liked the club 33 coupon too!
Major; # 3 reminds me the most of your April 1 pic, if only 10%... Since I have an abundance of tickets, I'd leave at least a "D" ticket, maybe even a late '70's "E" ticket (the pink child's one). I always take old tickets to the park with me, I keep them with my money, it makes for great conversation starters... And yes, I've even given a few away (A,B & C's) to folks that seem interest (there aren't many)...
Kevin; So did they cut and paste these that hard way? Pretty good work for an employee publication.
Ha! Loved the ah-ohs, especially the Monsanto one. Pretty great job considering it was pre Photoshop!

Found this page while googling to see if anyone had posted articles from some old issues of Backstage. I was writer and later editor of several from 1976-1979 and remember this one well. Coupons were all in fun, and yes, Kevin--Disneyland's Creative Services team did a great job with the graphics. All pre-Photoshop. Later we did one I think was funnier than the "oh-oh's" that played with an advertising theme that year. We turned "it could only happen at Disneyland" into "it could never happen at Disneyland." Made for some fun images.
