Red & White Family at Disneyland 1964

I thought the phenomenon of dressing your kids in the same colored clothes was something relatively new at Disneyland... Apparently not as this May 1964 slide shows all the kids dressed in red & white.

Cute family, but boy does the dad look familiar to me. Are other photos from this set posted on another blog? Who is this guy and why is he haunting my dreams??

Did you notice the vintage fence, I sure did!

I dunno, dad looks like a typical 50's dad to me, I don't recognize him...

It's a great picture though! The red stripes not be much of a fashion statement, but when you're trying to keep track of 5 kids, they will be much easier to spot in those outfits!

The stripes aren't so bad, but holding your pants up with yarn is kinda pathetic.

Yeah, the yarn/rope is kind of weird. Maybe when you have 5 kids, you have to cut corners somewhere.

Oh, and maybe the father is haunting your dreams because those DL tickets in his shirt pocket are super rare for some reason and he wants you to have them...and while you are sleeping, he's trying to mentally send you clues as to their whereabouts. Hey, it's possible.

Oooooh....maybe you already have his tickets in your collection.....AND HE WANTS THEM BACK!!!!!!!

You know Mom made those outfits herself from patterns she saw in "Woman's Day" - and she made them unisex so that as the kids grew, everybody just traded for the next size over (except the oldest, who got fresh made.)

Loving hands at home.
