Daily Variety 2005 - Disneyland: A national treasure turns 50

Welcome to Magazine Monday.  Today we've got a "Special Commemorative Issue" of Daily Variety Magazine, April 29, 2005.  The Cover story and the entire special issue are dedicated to Disneyland: A national treasure turns 50.

Most of the relevant pages (and a few advertisements) are scanned in this post, let me know if I missed something you'd like to read.

I know I've seen that map somewhere before.

There are some nice rare photographs in this special issue.

You replaced my Country Bear Jamboree with this??

According to the ticket article on the right, Disneyland stopped selling ticket books on June 16, 1982.  And guess what, we have PROOF --- Be sure and check out my post from last year "The Last Disneyland Ticket Book - June 15, 1982" (link).

That Steve Martin 50th film was, well, not great.

I remember that pool on Main Street - It could only happen at Disneyland...

yawn...

Great House of the Future photograph.

Fun Hidden Delights.

Another great article by Ray Bradbury. I had no idea he was such a Disney fan. Love the little view of Walt when he says "tomorrow" to Ray's lunch offer. On another note - I had totally forgotten about I Magnin's.

Looking forward to reading the rest of the articles - thank you so much! (ps - I did get to go to Disneyland May 2005 for the 50th - our last day before we moved to Indiana).
