While I’m on vacation for the next (two) week(s) here’s something to read since there won’t be a new post for about two weeks. This July 1960 issue of The Disneylander is like an early “compendium” of Disneyland’s first five years.
I couldn't get my "evaluation" copy of Acrobat to work so I'll post a PDF version of this issue sometime soon.
On the August Birthdays page in the B's Is Charles Boyajian he was hired by Walt to be his Manager of the Custodial Department at Disneyland. He developed ways to clean the park like Hosing down all outside areas everyday with high pressure water hoses. When Lillian asked Walt why he wanted to build a park and said they're dirty, Walt said MINE WON'T BE Chuck Boyajian did that. I had the honor of meeting Chuck In 1977 when my best friend Tom who was hired as a Custodian in 1976 he mentioned to Chuck he has a friend who needed a job And he said Have him come in and I'll talk to him which I did we talked for about 30 minutes and he asked me how long did I see myself working here? I told him I don't see any reason that I would want to leave. He said Your Hired. Go to the Casting office they'll be expecting you. I worked for Disneyland Custodial Department for 25 year. And Every time I go past the Market House on Main Street I look up at Chuck's Window above the door and Say THANK YOU CHUCK.

Already thesaurused. :) It's quite an amazing look at the internal operation of the Park in its early years.
Enjoy your vacation in San Tropez!
