Helicopter Ride to Disneyland

Here's a nice unused ticket for Disneyland's Helicopter service, LAX to Disneyland via Los Angeles Airways. While not dated I would place this near 1960 based on the bargain price of $7.

I'm liking that purple ink, looks the same ink as Walt's stylized signature on the welcome page of the ticket books (link).

Odd this ticket was never used. Based on the Disneyland Helicopters "checkered" history maybe it's best some tickets were left unused.

Some might say the back is plain and boring, I see the "Backside of Globe Safety paper" and I get happy.

Check out my previous post of a used 1960 Disneyland Helicopter Ticket below:

Somebody found a whole "book" of those LA Airways helicopter tickets, and they've been selling them off on eBay. I wish I'd gotten in early, the prices keep going up. Too rich for my blood, as much as I want one. I have a stub similar to your last jpeg, but I sure would love to have a complete, unused example.

This is an unusual item for certain. Thanks for posting the back as well! Printing by Sir Albert Ticket.

This little helicopter ticket is a fantastic piece of Disneyland history. The $7 fare makes it especially fun to look at today—what once represented a futuristic, exciting way to reach the park now feels like a tiny time capsule from another world.

I also love that the ticket remained unused. Collectors often treasure the objects that escaped their intended purpose, because the pristine paper preserves details that thousands of used tickets eventually lost. Even the plain reverse side becomes interesting when you start thinking about the materials, printing, and safety culture of the period.

And that purple ink is a great detail. When you start recognizing the same visual elements across different pieces of vintage Disneyland ephemera, the collection begins to feel like one connected story rather than isolated tickets. A nostalgic browse at https://boomerangbet-italy.net/ fits nicely with that kind of treasure hunting.
