Are you ready to Sparkle & Sing All Summer Long? From
August 25 thru 31, 1974 here’s gate
flyer with a super cover –
America Sings NOW OPEN!!! Boy do I love that artwork! This
flyer is very similar to one I posted last week “
Celebration Summer” from
1975 (
link).

The cool little drawings are the same as the one used on the inside of the
1975 flyer. The Great Rock Circus presents Sam Jo
?
An
unbelievable amount of entertainment!

Open every day from 8 a.m to 1 a.m.! They never stay open to 1 anymore, do they? I guess Grad Nites would be the exception.
Gee, I didn't realize the Bear Country Hoedown was being performed that far back. I only remember it from the early eighties.
The latest 1 AM closing I have (ignoring New Year's Eve and the Fourth of July) is May 24, 1998, when the Park was open from 8 AM - 1 AM. The last summer the Park was open 8 AM - 1 AM was 1995.
Huh, I didn't know that the park closed before one o'clock these days. As a kid it seemed like I was getting away with something, being allowed to stay up so late. I was exhausted of course.
LOL... I practically fainted from happiness when a PA came on during a monorail rail ride to announce that the park hours had been extended to 1AM.
Katella Gate - Do you remember what day that was? ;)
Progressland: probably the late 70s, less likely early 80s.
OH! The year I graduated from High School! By the way, yes, they still stay open late but only during the summer months or holiday time or private parties. When I worked there, Google rented BOTH parts for a 3 day party and I worked until 3:00 a.m.! (And then had to go to my real job UGH)
