Popular Science November 1963 - Magic Skyway Article

In my never ending quest to read every Popular Science and Popular Mechanics ever printed, I stumbled across this neat little article I wanted to share.

From November 1963, here’s fun look at the testing in Glendale, CA for the Fords Magic Skyway that would appear at the 1964 New York Worlds Fair. I want to ride in the Lincoln Continental! What, they don’t have engines???

Hey, that's Rolly Crump to the left of the model! And where is that model today???

So that's where they tested out the Peoplemover traction concept.

Tokyo, good catch on Rolly. I wonder if he had anything to do with the design, or if he was just handy for use as a model to hold a paint brush.

Very cool... the "Magic Skyway" is so intriguing to me, as is the entire Ford pavilion. It's truly incredible that these big companies could afford to underwrite a huge attraction like that back in those days!
