Welcome to Magazine Monday. While technically today’s magazine is really a TV guide, its magazine sized and has a magazine sounding name so that close enough. From March 4, 1955 its TV-Radio Life, at ¢10 it’s “The best dime buy in town”. A standard photo of Walt’s is on the cover, complete with Donald and Minnie being sweet.
This week on TV. Fascinating ratings review, Disneyland is at number 9.
The Disneyland article is again just two pages, but still a fun read.
The top 25 songs. Mr. Sandman at No. 11!
Wednesday’s TV listing, Disneyland’s “Man in Space” episode airs at 7:30pm. Notice “Norby” at 6:55 (odd time to start) its one of three show in color for the entire week!
Check out all the radio stations in Los Angeles. Amazingly, these stations are still with is; KFI 640, KABC 790, KFWB 980, KNX 1070, KGIL 1260. The formats have change, but they are still broadcasting, I listen to all of those stations still!
KABC took a nice advertisement on the back cover.

This is just great historic stuff. Always my favorite.
So much fun information packed into the best dime buy! Love the list of "top shows"...
The ballad of Davey Crocket was at #18.
AGH! Totally LOVE IT! Thanks for a great post Tim.
A fun trivia find on the Wednesday TV Log: 5:15 p.m. on Channel 2 -- "Space Funnies" with Dal McKennon.
McKennon narrated Frontierland's Mine Train thru Nature's Wonderland, and was the voice of Benjamin Franklin in the animated short, Ben and Me.
And "Earth Angel" is number 10! they should have titled the article "Future 'Back to the Future' soundtrack"!
On the March 9th page they have an ad for a NEW car for $29 a month! I hardly pay $29 a month for anything at all these days! Not even the newspaper is that cheap!
