Buick Magazine - May 1957

Staying with the odd vintage magazines, today we’ve got “Buick Magazine", from May 1957. That clock is way cool!

Straight forward two page article.

1957 Buick Special, longer, lower and wider than the 1956 Buick I used to own. It‘s still a classic design.

Fun article on how the design of Buick’s (and Bra’s) has changed.

** The blog will be quiet for a day or two. I have to work over the holiday weekend, including traveling up to Sacramento. It stinks having to work over the weekend, but nice to have a job so I shouldn’t complain. Hopefully the blog will be back for Bonus Sunday… **

It's so interesting that so many car companies produced their own magazines back in those days. And they all seem very similar, with travel tips, recipes, craft ideas.... everything a person in 1957 would need to know!

I used to drive a 1971 Buick Electra 225 (which I bought used, it was my first car), that thing was a boat!

Wonderful! And I really enjoyed your post on the Tandy Leather Museum, too. Wow, we'll need to look into that one some more!

Ahh, those were the days when car makers were not only selling cars, but also dreams. The bigger and more powerful they are, the better. Gone were those days. Today's automobiles are mostly designed to go from one place to another. Designers have been toned down, unlike back then when they are allowed make outrageous designs.
