The "D" Ticket - Part 3 the late 1960's

I think I've come to really like the "Castle Paper", this May 1967 "D" ticket really shows the neat Castle and Star Watermarks. The SF & D RR Trains have found there way back on the "D" ticket after hanging out on the "E" ticket for 7 years. The "New Tomorrowland 67" has the All new People Mover and the updated "Flight to the Moon" (minus the big TWA/Douglas Rocket out front). Fantasyland's dark rides have moved down the block to the "C" ticket, Storybook Land gets to stay. And the Mine Train thru Nature's Wonderland is now on the "D" having moved down from "E" ticket.

May 1969 has the Tomorrowland Jets back. The Sailing Ship Columbia and the Mark Twain are gone from the "D" ticket, having moved UP to the "E" Ticket in 1968. You'll see on the next ticket, they both return to the "D" ticket. Why do you suppose they were moved up to the "E" ticket for just two years?

Notice the price increase, it's now 70 cents, inflation has now hit Disneyland on this May 1970 "D" ticket! The Sailing Ship Columbia and the Mark Twain are back from there brief appearance on the "E" ticket. Also, note the Frontierland Railroad station is now in "New Orleans Square". The Mine Train is gone, back on the "E" for a couple more years, we'll see it again soon on the "D" ticket.

And just because this post needs some color, here is a nice cover to the Summer 1967 Guide book, supplied courtesy of INA.

I'm surprised to see the new Tomorrowland attractions showing up on a May 1967 ticket, as they didn't yet open for several months. But then they go and call the Rocket Jets the Tomorrowland Jets two years after it had changed, so what do I know!

I like the "castle and stars" paper as well, I wonder why they didn't stick with their own unique watermark for more than a couple of years?
