Snap Shots - 1962/63

Today let’s set the trip report time machine back to 1962 & 1963. Presented today are two unrelated snap shots for your viewing pleasure.

First up from August 1962 everyone’s in front of the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship. The man on the left (Lets call him Uncle Bob) is dressed casually and would actually fit in fine today! There’s Aunt Marsha with a purse that weighs more than her baby. Hey, what are they standing on; it doesn’t look like the entrance ramp?

Today’s other vintage photo is from November 1963. Taken from the Monorail Station, it’s not the best quality, but it is interesting. Tomorrowland looks rather devoid of people, the AstroJets look grounded. What’s going on over on there on the right side of the photo?

Let’s zoom in. It appears to be men all dressed in black pants with white shirts? Are they doing exercises? Weird.

Nice vintage shots! Yes, what are those people standing on in that first pic? Could it have been a setup just for photo ops? They do look pretty nice raised up in front of the Pirate Ship like that.

Maybe the guys in the second pic were new cast members on their orientation tour.

Awesome pics Tim. I hope we can figure out who those people are in both pics. Thanks

Is it possible the raised platform is an MC (Master of Ceremonies) stage for an after hours event? The platform isn't really large enough for musicians, and the speakers built into the rail (if that's what they are) would be ok for spoken word but too small for music.
