Not being a huge country music fan, I don't recognize any of these groups. It does seem there was plenty of "Nighttime Entertainment".

25th Anniversary goodness...

"Encore Nights" Still quite a few unrecognizable bands for me. June 7th has a few familiar names, K.C. & the (I'm your boogie man) Sunshine Band, Shalamar & Papa Doo Run Run... Does Disneyland have anything like this any more? Does FantasimcSummerNights have any entertainers lined-up?

The thing that kills me is that I'll think, "1980? That wasn't so long ago", only to realize that it was nearly 30 years ago!
Yee-haw! Yep, 1980 doesn't seem like that long ago. I remember the 25th Birthday very well. Now we're coming up on the 55th.....sheesh!
May 1980: a few days before my 30th birthday.
I'm actually impressed with the line up. The billings are in order of "splash": In country, Lynn Anderson was big (I never promised you a rose garden). Crash Craddock was also popular with a charting cover of "Knock three times" and the "Plug it in" jingle for the Glade air freshener. (It actually started out as a real song "Rub it In).
As for groups, New Grass Revival was a big deal, as was Spyro Gyra(named after the aglae), KC and The Sunshine Band, and Papa Doo Run Run.
But hey, who needs a rose garden when you got the Jonas Brothers?
Teri DeSario was fabulous! I missed her at Disneyland, but got to see her play Knott's new year's party a few years later.
