Disneyland in Slides - July 1969

Let’s take a look at a couple of slides from July 1969. Do you suppose this was July 4, 1969? That banner looks pretty cool! Lots of neat people to check out, nice souvenir bag.

I’ve posted the large souvenir back before here (link) but here’s an exclusive look at the small souvenir bag - groovy baby.

It’s almost four O’clock according to Timex - I bet its still hot as heck!

These are great! I can feel the heat of a summer day on the pavement!

It's pretty crowded; but I've seen it lots worse!

I love that floppy white hat the woman's wearing in that first picture; they were quite popular in the mid-to-late '60s. Thanks for another great nostalgic post.

I'm headed to WDW at the end of April...can't wait, as usual.

Wow...love the pink and white outfit the girl is wearing in the first photo. The crowds, the heat...yish, I'm glad I'm not there, LOL. Love the bag - those were so cool.

Marvy! I wish we could step into these 1969 photos. The park was probably never better (with the exception of the Haunted Mansion which opened one month later....I wonder if they were doing "soft openings" back in those days?)

I can't recall if they did. But I can tell you that a day or two before the opening, employees were welcome to ride it.

Those bags still look sharp. I can't imagine somebody saving one, but I am sure glad they did.
