Fantasy on Parade - 1974

It’s Holiday time at Disneyland, 1974 style. This flyer mentions the 19th Annual Fantasy on Parade, which would make this one year before Meet the Worlds “Gloria Gaynor at Disneyland – 1975” for from a couple of weeks ago. Nice grease stain, I say it adds charm and authenticity or its just gross.

No Gloria Gaynor in 1974, don’t worry, she will survive. But I’ll be making two trips to Holiday Time 1974, first to see one of my favorite musicians Jose Feliciano, and of course who would miss the DeFranco Family? it's interesting that they depicted both Parade Routes as two separate illustrations, in 1975 its just one illustration with a confusing “Point A - Point B” legend (link).

The DeFrancos! "Heart beat, it's a love beat...". Greatest. Song. Ever.

That IS odd that they used the same illustration twice. "My brain can't understand that the parade will be heading DOWN Main Street at 2 PM, and then UP Main Street at 9 PM". It's just WAY too technical.

(I don't know why I think it's funny, but the word verification is "unkies")

Interesting that they just used the same graphics the next year. Lazy! And as "Terrence T." pointed out on the '75 version, it's odd that they were using the West gate in Town Square. Is/was there room back there to store all of those floats between the 2:00 parade and the 9:00 one?

Interesting to note that the 1974-1975 Fantasy Parade was supposed to be the Finale season because I was a Cast Member for the 1974-75 parade. I know in 1975 America on Parade was on and went through January of 1977. AT Christmas time they added a Christmas unit. The inaugural year of A Very Merry Christmas Parade was in 1977-78, I was also a Cast Member for that.
