The inside over (with the stain reversed) has a sweet “author unknown” poem. Even better than the poem is Ed Emberley’s superb art work which if you're over 40 I’m sure you recognize (link).
The Cigar-smoking rooster gets mentioned, you can see him here (link). “Walt Disney promises the 1966 parade will be bigger and better yet”.
“Fantasy on Parade” looks simultaneously silly and fun.
Do you suppose they knew how big this “different kind of creation” would become? There is some excellent artwork in this four page article.
I always forget about the Chuck Jones connection even though I guess it’s pretty obvious.
