Magic Kingdom (WDW) 2-day Passport - 1981

It's time to show some love for Disneyland's Florida cousin. From Walt Disney Word's Tencennial here's a couple of Child 2-day Passports. The date should be stamped on these since they appear to have been used? Maybe the ink faded? Well, they're from 1981!

Visit the EPCOT Center Preview theater on Main Street! What do you suppose the little hand written numbers are for?

The Guide Books at Walt Disney World are about 50% larger than Disneyland's.

The map and each land had that 1980's Licorice Pizza style of artwork - I like it even though it makes me feel weird.

[my computer is typing this on its own] "I can't afford to have an independent programmer monitoring me. Do you have any idea how many outside systems I've gone into? How many programs I've appropriated?"

I can't decide if I am looking forward to the new "Tron" movie or not.

Have you been to WDW, Tim?

"Ten's a time that you must cheer, ten's a time when you must be near, ten is magic, ten is fun, Disney World your number one....

It was a year long and a smile wide that was a long time ago and I still can't get it out of my head!!!!

This is the Disney World of my youth. The guidebook now notes the removal of the "Mickey Mouse Revue" which took place in 1980, and was really the first major change in WDW history for me. The EPCOT preview displaced the "Walt Disney Story" temporarily, but the film would return in due time.

Pardon the late response here:

Major; I'm excited about the new TRON, the Trailer's I've seen look interesting & dark, let's hope they get it right - if not it will be fun to ridicule it! Went to WDW for the 1st time in '08 (in July - mistake), at the time I said I'd never go back, but now it seems intriguing again...

Anon: That's a IASW type of tune, yikes, I hope you are getting some sleep...

Hey Eric! MMR looked so cool, I've only seen it on film, but wow. I saw the phil-a-magic thing - meh...

Hi Mark - Glad your enjoying the WDW post, I've got plenty more coming :-)
