Special Guest Cards 1957 and Wonderland Music

Going way back to June 1957, these "Special Guest Cards" were special indeed. Although not inexpensive, they must have been like gold. It's not clearly stated, but it appears you get into Disneyland and get unlimited use of the rides and attractions. No big deal in 2008, a huge deal in 1957!

This poor adult ticket has a hole in it, did someone punch it thru for a button?

This "sleeve" from the Wonderland Music Store came with these tickets when I got them, but I don't know if it's from the same year? It was open from 1955 to 1972. I think this sleeve is for sheet music, it's larger then the scan shows by a couple of inches.

It appears that the Wonderland Music Store moved around a bit during its 17 year run. From Davelandblog, this is from 1957/58.

From Stuff from the Park, March 1960, it seems to have moved "two doors down"....

And from Gorilla's don't blog, 1970 finds Wonderland near Mr. Lincoln! I should know this, but what's there now?

The Mad Hatter is now located next to Mr. Lincoln.

Wonderland Music has had several different locations on Main Street, U.S.A. I don't have exact dates, but from ca. 1955 to ca. 1957 it was where the Main Street Magic Shop now is. From ca. 1957 to ca. 1960 it was up the street. Some sources show it as part of the Art Gallery & Photo Studio and not an entirely separate shop, so I don't know for sure what's going on with that location. Then from ca. 1960 to ca. 1973 (The Nickel Tour says 1972, Disney A-Z says January 1, 1973) it was in what is the area that's now a cross between an expanded The Mad Hatter and exit area for the Lincoln Theater. The envelope kind of reminds me of a mailer featured in a post on a sampler of things.

I screwed up the direct link location to the post at a sampler of things. That should be better.

Interesting how the Wonderland Music Store moved around so much!

Great envelope! I think it's definitely from the late 1950's.

I ended up with the record mailer from A Sampler of Things and it is postmarked 1965 and once held a Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln record.

I have silver passes from 2006 and 2007 if anyone wants them. My nan worked at the Studio for 30+ years and gets all sorts sent. Does anyone know what the rules are with the silver pass? We want to go but she's 93 now and can't take us. My mum seems to think there is an exception for retirees.
