Drop in to the Alligator Farm - 1963

Back in the 1960's (and I guess since 1907!), after your visit to Knott's Berry Farm, you could walk on over to the Alligator Farm across the street and have some reptile fun!

I've been to one of these "farms" in Myrtle Beach SC and it was pretty amazing. I'll never forget the sight of  whole raw chickens being tossed into the gator pits, wow, that exciting!

Disneyland made it on the Alligator map, right off the 101 before it was the 5.

Wow, GREAT vintage Alligator Farm brochure! I never knew that the 5 used to be the 101...

What a great little souvenir from the Alligator Farm! I wish I had gotten to visit this So Cal attraction. I remember driving by it with family on many occasions. According to Wikipedia, the Alligator Farm originally openend in 1907 in a Lincoln Heights neighborhood in Los Angeles (next door to the Los Angeles Ostrich Farm) and it was moved to Buena Park in 1953. It closed in 1984 due to lack of attendance. :-(

The picture of the pretty young lady sitting on an alligator (or is it a crocodile? Guess I’ll have to ask one of the “competent guides”) is really wacky!
