Bonus Sunday

Welcome to Bonus Sunday. Let go back fifty years to the Summer of 1961 for a classic edition of Vacationland. Those swirly colored balloons are awesome; heck all of those balloons are awesome!

Download the entire issue here: Vacationland Summer 1961 - 108mb

A few highlights of your visit to Disneyland.

Monorail expansion is on the horizon.

House Keeping is a full time job… Ask any woman! Their words not mine.

News from Disneyland has a flash – Flying Sauces are heading toward Tomorrowland.

A few “competitor” advertisements. “Pay On Price” at POP, seems like a poke at Disneyland’s Ticket books.

She is reason enough to go Disneyland!

Oh my gosh I love this thing, thanks so much VDT! Do download the whole thing and enjoy it, peeps!

"Tomorrowland, land of the future, is presided over by the Space Man and Space Girl"

*waves to JG* hehe!

See an ad for the Chicken Plantation and the RED WAGON restaurant. Read details on the $3,200,000 Monorail (that is $23,059,237 today), the chore of resurrection after a party ("ask any woman") and their human, anti - Pressler philosophy of pride in their "no expenses spared" maintenance for your well being. And that's just the Disneyland stuff. :)

Check out the costume that poor balloon seller had to wear. Love the ad for the Lynwood Baby Zoo. The Disneyland attraction news is neat too, from the Monorail expansion to the Flying Saucers. Have you ever heard of "Frontier Nite" at the park before? And the ads are awesome, as usual.

Oh, this is wonderful.

I thought I remembered balloons with black ears, now I know it's not a dream.

I also remember those with the swirled pattern. Very Cool.

@Chiana, I will download and look over, I doubt the spaceman will be my guy, since my picture was taken almost seven years later, but he will be fun to see anyway.

Thank You VDT!

For some reason, I didn't get a box to subscribe to the thread, so I'll comment again, the color scheme for the Castle on the Dolly Madison ad is the right one....
