These two shots of the Matterhorn show how empty the park can be in February.
Acres of Slurry - ahhhhh.
The Chicken of the Sea almost looks like she’s moving!
It wouldn’t take much turn grandma into a Pirate, but she’ll have to lose that luggage sized purse first.
That looks like a couple of real smiles that only Disneyland can make happen.
Two Alice shots that are impossible to get today, what in the heck have they done to this once simple and elegant attraction?
And the band played on…. Who are these guys? (wow that's a BIG tie!) Winnie the Pooh is where he belongs, in Fantasyland!
Come back tomorrow for the last part of this series.

What a great set of images! And yes - Pooh in Fantasyland where he belongs!
These are great! Love those Matterhorn pics, especially!
I remember seeing that group. they were modeled after the group that was in Mary Poppins.
These are especially nice snapshots! Photo #2 is my fave, with the Peoplemover and Skyway...
Excellent, my dear!
Fantastic photos! Maybe Pooh should have replaced Pinocchio since that attraction almost always has a super short line and since it isn't an original attraction to the park (leave Snow White alone!) That way, Country Bear Jamboree could have stayed put and Pooh would be in FL where he belongs.
I believe that band is the Pearly Band, which was the animated band from the Supercalifragilistic segment of Mary Poppins. I think they get their name from the pearl tone buttons that are sewn onto their outfits.
Yes, you'd be amazed at how many sweet, blue-haired grandmothers are just one losing bingo card away from a life of piracy, swashbuckling, and adventure on the high seas. In fact, it was only by cleverly hiding at my Aunt's house in rural Kentucky that my own grandmother was able to elude the Royal Navy's swift justice in her later years.
Love the vintage pictures! Keep 'em coming!
Great shot of the Pearly Band. During this time, the Disneyland Band would break down into different bands which were themed to the lands. Also gotta celebrate the fantastic Matterhorn.
