1957 Disneyland Flyer

Here's a fun early Disneyland flyer. This 1957 flyer and map is almost identical to the 1956 flyer I posted a couple of weeks ago (link). Good luck spotting the differences! The 1957 version is about an inch smaller and lists the House of the Future (however it's not on the map!).

The arrangement of attractions is different... look at how Monstro is oriented. Weird!

Hi Connie - Yup this one's mine, I don't even know where I got it :-)

Major; its hard to even tell if thats Monstro! Of course the bigger question is what color was he???

Major, Yes, Monstro and the never-existed ringlake in Tomorrowland are interesting.

The Monstro sketch reminds me of an early, early layout for Fantasyland, where Monstro is facing dead south and centered on the castle draw bridge. My impression is that the ride was actually intended to be a "log" style ride where you are hoisted up the hill and are vomited out the whale's mouth. (I suppose retching cetaceans have a charm all there own...)

Anyway, I am wondering if this early map cross-pollinated with the early concept sketch...

I used to have one of these, must be left over from my parents travel there before my time. Don't know what became of it, sure I threw it out in a move.

I remember being puzzled over the sketches. Why would they draw it "wrong"?

Thank you for sharing this.
