Here's an unusual souvenir. This Disneyland "
Fantasyland" fabric isn't dated but based on the Windmill attraction that was never built I'm guessing this is from
1955.

Yes you can see the vintage catalog I used to flatten the fabric on this scan, I'm too lazy to redo it...
What a great piece of Disney history. Lovely colours too. Great find.
ReplyDeleteAwesome collectible - and looks to be in fantastic shape, still. Love the graphics on there - especially Snow White in the original proposed attraction vehicle.
ReplyDeleteWow, too, too cool!
ReplyDeleteYes, Very Interesting. Def. pre-opening concepts, if not manufacture.
ReplyDeleteThe first frame shows the original concept of Monstro as a flume ride. Obviously, that got changed. Today instead of puking you up, he swallows you whole.
I like this...I too have some 'vintage' Disney fabric...now if it came form an old shirt or something I don't know...We've used it for clothes for dolls. It has almost the same coloring. :) THANKS for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI *need* this in my life. Seriously, this would make an awesome skirt or dress to wear to the park. Awesome, awesome find---so glad you shared this!
ReplyDeleteThat is BEYOND cool!!
ReplyDeleteThe expression on Snow White's face is... interesting. She is REALLY into Dopey.
ReplyDeleteHi Major - I saw that too and leered at it a few moments myself. I doubt it's intentional. Everything else is so off-model I think its just an accident.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks a lot for sharing this unique info. I'd certainly just like.
