Disneyland Scrapbook page - 1956

Here's a fun page from someone's scrapbook. Not dated, but the park flyer is from 1956 so I'll say these pics are from 1956.

The pictures are a nice large format, but sorta blurry! I blame a early 50's Kodak Brownie with the lens the size of a raisin!

Great early flyer with an awesome map!

The backside of the Disneyland page has some cool Will Rogers State Park photos and post card.

Disneyland '78 - United Airlines Brochure

Lets take another look at United Airlines and Disneyland, this time its 1978. Be sure and check my previous 1977 United Airlines and Disneyland post from two weeks ago (link).

Wow! If only Space Mountain still looked like this! I miss the ramp in front and the space stage!

Hey that's the same castle photo from the 1977 brochure!

Sing Out America - Del Monte Disneyland Sweepstakes - 1979

Taking another look at some print advertisements, here's a fun one from 1979. It's Del Monte's Sing Out America Sweepstakes. Win a trip to Disneyland and attend a musical performance of your choice, I'll take Disco!

This is sure an odd and lazy style of art, I call it "70's Malaise"....

L.A. Times Advertisements - 1957

Back in 1957 the Los Angeles Times had a special offer for fans of Disneyland. Get 2 New Readers for The Times and get a free “Los Angeles Times Guest Book” to Disneyland. Convince two of your friends into a three month subscription of The Times (at $2.25 per month) and you get admission to Disneyland, a selection of 15 exciting “rides” and a free meal at Casa de Fritos! This first advertisement is from February 24, 1957 and it’s HUGE at 22 inches high – have you seen The Times lately, its not so big anymore.

This advertisement is just as tall but a third less wide and its from January 31, 1957. Basically they same advertisement but this one talks about a “Extra Bonus Offer” – a night stay at the new Disneyland Hotel!

You can probably get these old ads in .pdf or .jpg, but the old paper is a lot more fun!

Does anyone happen to have one of those L.A. Times Guest books???

Transportation Nite at Disneyland - October 8, 1971

October 8, 1971 was Transportation Nite at Disneyland. Sponsored by the Transportation and Traffic Clubs of Southern California. That's a cool clip art of a 747 that was just one year old at the time. Is it just me or its that an exceptionally nice printing of "Disneyland"...

Free Parking is a nice touch. The L.A. Transportation Club is keeping "any excess monies" Where I come from we call excess money "profit"

Here's the cover to the Fall/Winter 1971-72 Disneyland Guide book, one of my favorites for sure.

I posted the full guide book back in 2008, but this is a cleaner copy so here it is again. You can download the whole guide here.

**** Disneyland Guidebook Fall/Winter 1972-72 - 20mb ****

If you don't want the entire guide, come take a trip thru the lands of Disneyland in the Fall of 1971.

Why children love Sears & Disneyland - 1962

Why children love Sears - and Sears loves children. This disembodied advertisement is from an unknown magazine and it not dated. The 1962 Rambler ad on the back of one of the pages does give a clue that its from 1961 or 1962.

This Sears exclusive Disneyland layout cost only $9.98. Yes it's woefully out of scale and not even that accurate, but its cool and I would have played it to death. All the clothes pictured are also from Sears.

Excellent Pepsi Cola ad.

That red Rambler wagon is cute! Neato Lounge-tilt seats!
