Well used Disneyland Press Photo's

Here’s a couple of very well used Disneyland Press Photo’s. First up Mickey and friends are getting excited about football! Check out that LA Rams Sign!





The back is way more interesting than the front. This photo appears to have been taken in November 1970 and was then re-used several times, the last time on October 1990! It looks like they cropped it down more and more each time!





Mickey and the band, complete with white uniformed band leader.





The stamp at the bottom is a copyright for 1968, looks like it was used in 1972 and then again in 1990! Do you think anyone in 1990 realized that photo was almost 20 years old?

Here's a neat look at a corner of Town Square when its was just a baby in August 1955.






Zooming in you can't see much of that sign, but I can see the Mark Twain and a dancing lady!

Magic Kingdom Club Ticket Book - October 1961

Taking yet another look into the Magic Kingdom Club collection, today we've got a complete and unused ticket book from October 1961. This ticket book is 49 years old yet looks as new as the day it was printed, someone must have kept this one locked up in a safe (oh wait, that's me!)

The Monorail still circles Tomorrowland and Flying Saucers have landed!

Family Fun Party - October 19, 1980

Its October 19, 1980 and Mickey is ready to celebrate "Our special party", in fact its a Family Fun Party! The lucky holder of this ticket gets unlimited use of all attractions (except shooting galleries).





Free Parking! Do you think Mickey really towed your car away (in violation of AMC 14.32.220) if you left it in the lot one hour after closing?





Since we're in 1980, lets take a look at a super Disney News from the Fall of 1980. The cover alone is all I need for this issue to be a keeper, what a great shot of one of my favorite attractions.

Dynamite goes to Disney World - August 1975

Welcome to Magazine Monday – Walt Disney World Edition. Who else vividly recall’s Scholastic’s Dynamite Magazine? To me this was the only decent publication from Scholastic’s wide range of snooze-control choices. Dynamite was published from 1974 thru 1992, this early issue from August 1975 is #14.





Let me know if you seeing anything interesting that I didn’t include in this post.





Considering that Dynamite Magazine generally had a artsy-funky-crunchy-granola mood mixed with innocent (not so funny) humor, this four page Disney World article is pretty good.











This style of “art” for kids always struck me as odd, even as a kid. It’s as if the adults assumed the kids were on acid. Where’s the Green Meanie?





The only thing that seems accurate about this survey is that Skippy is on the bottom of the list, JIF of course should be #1






Whoa more Licorice Pizza artwork, I’m getting a weird mid-70’s groove on.






What in the world is going on here? Count Chocula meets Wolf Man Jack! This explains all those weird dreams I had in the 5th grade.

Disneyland partially used ticket book - June 1960

Naturally not every vintage Disneyland ticket book is going to be complete. This “just in” book from June 1960 is missing all of its “E” and “A” tickets, but since I’ve got plenty of spare “E’s” and “A’s” its fine with me. In fact, in a way these partially used ticket books are more fun – its neat knowing this book was in the park in the summer of 1960 and some lucky vintage guest tore out some of the tickets and used them.





50 years later I tore out the remaining three tickets and let me tell you it felt great! Too bad you can’t hear that distinct “Snap” sound, it’s intoxicating.










Awesome attraction list. The Monorail still just circles Tomorrowland, Main Street still has a Shooting Gallery (has anyone ever seen interior photos of the MS Shooting Gallery?) and Fantasyland has an Omnibus!

An unbelievable value.
