Two Wonderful Ways to Enjoy Disneyland - February 1964

Time for yet another “Two Wonderful Ways to Enjoy Disneyland" parking lot brochure. You can see a few of my previous “Two Wonderful Ways” posts here (link) or see a boat load of them over at Stuff From the Park here (link).

This February 1964 version has an unusual map of the parking lot, an aerial photo! I’m thinking that photo is older than 1964?

The Deluxe 15 Ticket Book for an adult was still a great deal for just $4.95

Those pesky winter hours….

Looking ahead to Bonus Sunday here’s the cover to the Fall 1964 edition of Vacationland.

A great article on how Disneyland was also intended for “upper age bracket, over fifty citizens” with Main Street being an authentic re-creation of a town they grew up in. It’s odd that Main Street no longer has that effect on anyone or hardly anyone. Seems reason enough to “re-create” some vintage Disneyland so the next generation of “over fifty citizens” can have a similar experience - give us some of our balloons back!

I don’t know much about Arthur Godfrey, but he seemed like a nice man and that rack of Dolly Madison cakes sure looks yummy!

Disneyland's Big Band Festival - May 27 & 28, 1972

Two wonderful ways to enjoy Disneyland”. I’m really digging the cool blue ink of this parking lot flyer from May 27 & 28, 1972.   You better read what’s inside, it’s IMPORTANT!

Another Disneyland Entertainment Special at Regular Prices!” I bet that weekend was indeed “two fun-filled nights of entertainment”. Then a Memorial Day Parade on Monday and the new Bear Country!

Here’s your two wonderful ways to chose from. Come on, go for the Deluxe 15 Ticket Book, its Disneyland!

For goodness sakes “don’t misplace your car”! Oh and Pluto says I have permission to kick your rear-end if you leave your pets in the car.

How about some vintage color? This snap shot is naturally undated. I could try and pass it off as 1972, but I think the Upjohn Pharmacy left Main Street around 1970, so let's call it 1968.

Disneyland’s Summer of 100 Million Smiles - 1971

This summer 1971 parking lot flyer offers you two wonderful ways to enjoy Disneyland’s Summer of 100 Million Smiles!

There are really three wonderful ways to enjoy Disneyland in 1971: A personally guided tour, Big 10 ticket book or Deluxe 15 ticket book.

There’s a new day After Dark at Disneyland. Super fun drawing below, I dig the balloons and the Moon guy.

Looks like we parked in section “F”. Fun things to do after your visit, was Knott’s open after “after dark”?

We’d (WED?) like your help!

Surveys are nothing new at Disneyland. I prefer this type of survey versus the cast members wearing a computer that approach you as you enter the main gate these days.

This receipt for the Character Corner has faded to almost blank. I was able to revive it somewhat, although the color is way off. I wonder what kind of goodies they bought on June 25th, 1971?

André Tahon - R.I.P.

André Tahon - R.I.P.

Imagine my surprise when I received an email from a puppet. Not just any puppet but from the Great Papotin himself.

However, Papotin was bearing some very sad news… His “Daddy” André Tahon passed away in August of this year.

These are images from a .pdf file Papotin sent me. You can download the original file here (link).

As a tribute to André and his grand puppets, here’s a replay of my post from last July.

Two Wonderful Ways to Enjoy Disneyland” from the Summer of 1963.

I’ve never noticed the guided tours being called a “Happiness Trip” before, I bet they dropped that pretty quick.

Do you think Disneyland is open every day in the summer?

Don’t miss this “Unique Special Attraction – Direct from Paris” its Andre Tahon and “Papotin’s Revue”. This show ran only for a few months in 1963, but still managed over 500 shows! Please “Present an ‘E’ Coupon from your ticket book”…

Here’s the aforementioned “E” ticket from June 1963.

Mr. Tahon himself, he looks better than his drawing above. Check out this blog (link) for tons of information on Andre.

And from Jed’s somewhat dormant but still excellent blog, here are two rare promotional items from these two posts on his blog "Vintage Disneyland Goodies". (link) and (link). Be sure and read the comments on those posts, lots of great information.

Papotin's Revue - Summer 1963

Once again you’ve got “Two Wonderful Ways to Enjoy Disneyland”, this time it’s for the Summer of 1963.

Disneyland - Summer 1965

Welcome to the best summer ever at Disneyland, Summer ’65! This flyer is in amazing condition for being 44 years old, if only I were in such a well preserved state! The “First Fabulous Decade”.

Two Wonderful ways to enjoy Disneyland. Technically there are three ways if you count two types of ticket books and the tour.

Lots of old school entertainment, “All at 20,000 Leagues Exhibit”? That seems odd. Plus, just for Jason, “Hootenanny” every Monday and “Humdinger” every Tuesday!

Open Daily. The Plaza Inn is all new!

1962 Disneyland Flyer - Cavalcade of Bands

In June of 1962 there were two wonderful ways to enjoy Disneyland. Let's take a look

The Guided Tour comes with a pretty lady so that's a fairly easy choice...

Those guests with disembodied heads should choose one of the two ticket book options.

Hey this flyer is looking familiar?  I think "Stuff from the Park" posted this a couple years ago!  Yup (link).

Cavalcade of bands advance tickets $4.95, day of the event (June 2) $5.50!

Since my post is sort of a repeat of "Stuff from the Parks" 2010 post, here's something more original from 1962.  OK, the front isn't original, but the sub sure looks cool!

This part is original, if not somewhat boring.  (From Major: Oh, and that postcard is a bit infamous because it has a misspelling on the back ("Disneyand's" on the third line).  Thanks Major!
